Meant to Be Mine
Many thanks to the author and Litfuse Publicity for providing me with a free copy of this novel in exchange for my honest review.
A whirlwind romance finds former high school friends Ty and Celia tying the knot in Vegas after only a few days. The fallout the next day is devastating when Ty admits to having a plan to reunite and marry his hometown sweetheart. Five years later Ty and Celia reconnect only to find their passion for each other burns as bright as ever. The ex-girlfriend is still in the picture and an adorable five year old serves as a living reminder of their long ago, but unforgettable wedding night. Only God knows why their paths have crossed again, but Ty is praying for forgiveness and Celia is praying for a second chance at love.
Ty, a gorgeous overconfident cowboy and Celia, a sprightly aspiring pastry chef are believable and likable characters. The story line moves quickly in the first few chapters, but quickly settles into a comfortable rhythm that engages the reader and keeps the pages turning long after bed time. Filled with sub plots and intriguing accessory characters, this novel sets the stage beautifully for spin offs and follow up story lines.
Meant to Be Mine offers fantastic romance with all the gut twisting sexual tension of a trashy paper back with none of the smut or crude morals. This novel is a fabulous read for those that enjoy a clean read, but traditionally find Christian romance lacking in the desire and attraction departments. Wade expertly weaves Christian values and messages into the prose without allowing the religious material to overwhelm the plot or become lecture like or preachy. Readers who enjoy this book are likely to be searching out her other novels (including me)!
About the Book:
Ty Porter has always been irresistible to Celia Park. All through high school–irresistible. When their paths cross again after college–still irresistible. This time, though, Ty seems to feel exactly the same way about Celia. Their whirlwind romance deposits them at a street-corner Las Vegas wedding chapel.
The next morning they wake to a marriage certificate and a dose of cold reality. Celia’s ready to be Ty’s wife, but Ty’s not ready to be her husband. He’s a professional bull rider, he lives on the road, and he’s long planned to settle down with the hometown girl he’s known since childhood.
Five and a half years pass. Celia’s buried her dreams so that she can afford to raise her daughter. Ty’s achieved all of his goals. Or thought he had, until he looks again into the eyes of the woman he couldn’t forget and into the face of the child he never knew he had.
How much will Ty sacrifice to win back Celia’s trust and prove to her that their spontaneous marriage can still become the love of a lifetime?
